Ball joints are the critical components that connect your wheel hubs to the control arms. They provide universal pivoting movement between the wheel hubs and control arms to give you a smooth ride and allow you to precisely control your vehicle. Most basic power window systems have switches that allow power to go through to the power window motor when pressed. The direction power runs through to the motor depends on the direction the switch is pressed, which allows for the window to be opened or closed.The master switch is usually located in the driver door or the console. It is called a master switch because it operates all the power windows in the vehicle and contains the window lock-out switch.

A control arm connects the wheel hub and steering knuckle to the frame of the vehicle. They are typically equipped with bushings on the frame side of the vehicle and a ball joint on the wheel side of the vehicle that allow flex and controlled movement according to road conditions and steering input from the driver.
