Shock absorbers play a key role in a suspension's function and have a large impact on the car's overall handling and ride quality. Although called "shock absorbers," a better term is "dampers" as their job is to damp or control the car body and suspension motion as it goes over undulations and bumps in the road.

The bump stop considerably stiffens the resisting spring rate near the limit of its vertical movement to prevent shock impact and damage to the suspension components.

The main function of leaf springs is to provide comfort to the passengers by minimizing the vertical vibration caused by the nonuniformity of road geometry.

Wheel bearings have a very important job – enabling the rotation of your wheels. They make sure your wheels run smoothly with minimal friction. They also maintain correct wheel tracking and can even play a role in providing your vehicle's drive systems with wheel speed sensor signals

Trailing arm bushings are small rubber or polyurethane components that connect the trailing arm to the car's frame. They allow the arm to move up and down smoothly while also keeping it properly aligned.

Wheel bearing kits consist of a set of steel balls (ball bearings) / tapers (tapered bearings), held together by a metal ring. They are responsible for transmitting the driving force of a vehicle to the wheels, ensuring that the wheels rotate smoothly with a minimum of friction.

The handbrake cables link the handbrake lever to the parking brakes to stop the car from rolling downhill. Frayed or broken handbrake cables are dangerous and must be replaced.

The radiator fan (or fans) pulls cooling air through the car's radiator. Positioned between the radiator and engine, cooling fans are particularly helpful when the car is stationary or moving at speeds too slow to force air through the grille.
