A fuel line is a hose or pipe used to transfer fuel from one point in a vehicle to another. The United States Environmental Protection Agency defines a fuel line as "all hoses or tubing designed to contain liquid fuel or fuel vapor. The fuel supply system in a petrol engine comprises various components that work together to transfer a set amount of fuel from a car's fuel tank to its engine for combustion. These components include a fuel tank, fuel pump, carburettor, fuel injectors, fuel filters and fuel lines.

The gasket connects the manifold to the cylinder head. In turn, this allows the manifold itself to collect the waste gases and redirect them to the exhaust pipe while simultaneously pulling in new air into the vacuum that's created by the exiting gas.

Perhaps the most common use of a gasket is as a component of a sealing system, in which one of the major functions of the gasket is to create a seal between two other surfaces. (For instance, pipe gaskets are used to create a seal between two pieces of pipe when laying a pipeline).

Originally glow plugs were only used for preheating during the initial ignition. However, with modern direct-injection engines, post glow becomes more essential than ever. It allows the engine to run in a comfortable, quieter and fuel-efficient manner, even in the case of stop-start or city traffic.

The Coolant Temperature Sensor is used to measure the temperature of the engine coolant. The readings from this sensor are then fed back to the engine control unit (ECU). This data from the sensor is then used to adjust the fuel injection and ignition timing.

It is the job of the turbocharger to compress more air flowing into the engine's cylinder. When air is compressed the oxygen molecules are packed closer together. This increase in air means that more fuel can be added for the same size naturally aspirated engine.

A temperature gauge is a device used for the accurate measurement and reading of temperature gradient. The term temperature gauge usually, though not always, refers to a device showing readings on a numbered dial. Dial thermometer gauges are often found in industrial and commercial settings.
